House of Sisters of Mercy

The house built in 1913 was originally the Lazarists’ Missionary House.

After being destroyed during World War I, the building was renovated and reduced by one floor in 1924. During World War II, in March 1944, the partisans burned it down. The dilapidated house was renovated by the Sisters of Mercy, who named it the House of the Holy Mary Queen. It became a retirement residence for elderly sisters who had worked all over Yugoslavia.
